Stoneham Park in Eastleigh is a mixed-use development of about 1,200 homes, with a primary school, a local centre, business and employment units and an assisted living building.
Odyssey provided the water and infrastructure support including the flood risk assessment, drainage strategies and highways design through the planning process. We were then commissioned for the detailed design of the highways and drainage infrastructure.
The sustainable drainage system is designed to reflect the site’s landscape. Surface water is infiltrated, attenuated and treated at source in ponds, swales and wetlands linked through the development, and what does pass on to watercourses does so at reduced rates.
Highwood has a long-standing close working relationship with Odyssey. The success of this engagement led us to instruct Odyssey as infrastructure engineers on our strategic mixed-use development at Stoneham. This is our flagship site comprising over 1,200 residential units, a primary school, local centre, business and employment units as well as what will be our landmark assisted living building. Odyssey has been instrumental in helping deliver the infrastructure support for the flood risk assessment, drainage strategies and highways design through the planning process.
