Land North of Stevenage

Odyssey has supported Bellway Homes and Miller Homes on their joint venture site of 800 homes, which includes a country park, a local centre and a school.

Our transport planning support overcame a highways objection to the proposed site accesses. This allowed the proposals to safeguard access for two further allocated sites and helped to secure outline planning permission.

The Section 106 agreement required our clients to build a flood alleviation scheme in the country park, to reduce flooding to existing homes downstream. Odyssey led the negotiations with the Lead Local Flood Authority and completed the detailed flood modelling that discharged the planning condition. We are now detailing the scheme for construction.

Our work has also included Section 278 highway works and coordinating the routing and undergrounding of 133kV overhead power cables across the site.

On site, we provide transport planning and infrastructure support for the reserved matters applications, and the detailed design of the infrastructure, residential parcels and country park. We are currently supporting the Phase 2 reserved matters application for the remaining 442 homes and securing technical approvals for the highways and drainage works.
